Step 1 - Dig a planting hole.
First, you need to dig a hole for planting, and mix the dug soil with well-rotted compost from green mass and a handful of horn shavings.
Important: The pit should be of such a size that the roots of the plant do not need to be bent and they have enough space.
Step 2 - Drive in a retaining peg.
Place the tree in the hole and place a retaining peg next to it. Use a heavy hammer to drive the peg so deep that it does not swing (at least 30 cm).
Important: In order not to damage the seedling when hammering in the peg, it can be removed from the pit again and set aside.
step 3 - fill the hole with earth and water
Pour a mixture of soil and compost, as well as a handful of horny shavings into the pit, tamp well and water thoroughly. A small side should be formed along the edges of the pit so that water does not flow to the side and seep into the sod.
Important: During watering, the soil will fall on the roots, and they will continue to grow.
step 4 - tying
In order for the tree to grow calmly and not be bent in different directions by the wind, it is necessary to tie it to a retaining peg. To do this, wrap a tough garden rope or string made of coconut fibers around the trunk and a figure-eight retaining peg and then tie in the middle. Thus, a distance is maintained between the seedlings and the support, which prevents the tree from contacting the support and possible damage.
Important: Check the tying site regularly. It should not weaken, but at the same time it should not grow into the bark. Replace the rope if necessary. Only after about two years the tree will take root so well that the retaining peg can be removed.
step 5 - put the protective cover on the barrel
The bark of a young fruit tree is extremely tender. To avoid winter or summer sun burns and to protect the bark from rabbits, you should wrap the trunk with a special protective cover.
Important: After a couple of months you can remove the protective cover. By this time, the young tree will have time to grow up and get used to the sunlight in a new place. Rabbits and roe deer peel off the bark only in winter, so in the summer an animal protection cover is not needed.
